Pre Heresy Thousand Sons Conversion Army part two

Here Is the color scheme and some paladins that I did which follow the Fluff as Scarab Occult Terminators as noted by there Scarab shoulder pads.


They are red gold and white to show Pre- Heresy Colors

 I tried to make the lightning effect from the power weapon appear as if it is glowing onto his face and armour a trick i picked up from artist Kyle Grohmann see his work in older posts

 I know they are rough they will be sanded and filed before I start painting them. These minis are made from bits from Scribor miniatures and the Games workshop Grey knight terminators space Marine Chainfists Chaos space marines spikey bits and Games workshop Tomb Kings Fantasy conversion pieces. They are great for the whole egyptian feel.

 Halbred from Ushabti Kit converted to be one handed and incinerator

 Converted Halbred from Grey knight kit and Tomb Kings sword storm bolter from grey knights kit, there will be lightning coming out of his outstretched hand when i paint him to show the psychic power holocaust.

Apothecary with Space marine Chainfist to create Narthecium Reductor for removing Geneseed from fallen Thousand sons to create new Space Marines. Thinking of giving him a backpack.

Since i will be Making a counts as Lord Kalgor Draigo model these paladins will be troop choices.

Pre Heresy Thousand Sons Conversion Army

I was inspired by the Egyptian Galactic Knights i bought between that and the horus heresy books I was sold. I Was making a Thousand Sons army whether they had a codex or not. I decided on using Codex Grey knights because they are the only All psyker codex and so it began!

Here is my first attempt at a squad of Thousand Sons Using the Counts as rules for Grey knights, i used the Egyptian knights kits and platic grey knights kit with Space marine legs. For the Assasins i used Citadel Finecast Ushabti with metal parts from the Grey knights codex Vindicare Colexus and Callidus assasins.  This is not cheap by any means but if your into the egyptian theme and Thousand sons maybe you will find some inspiration!

 COLEXUS Assassin (Dremel the Skull and inside of helmet from Colexus assassin head and shave the back of the head of the Ushabti Ra model and half of the left skull and just glue together)

 
 VINDICARE ASSASSIN Exitus Pistol and Rifle (cut from the Arm and hand)

CALLIDUS ASSASSIN Nueral Shredder and Ctan Phase sword (made sword one handed and added pistol)

If anyone gives you shit for using them for counts as tell them to kiss your ass there 3x as tall as the assassin so your not getting cover save 70% of the time.

WARMACHINE: My First go at Painting a war machine model

So my buddy Tom gave me a WarMachines Khador Starter box this weeked for free which included two Warjacks and some sorcerer chick with a hot Scythe. So i was motivated and picked up a few more items with store credit and a can of Red Spray Paint. Tom helped with the Assembly and I whipped a small japanese boy to slave labor for me (well worth it he didnt enjoy glue and accelerant on his fingers though). I took them out back and sprayed them up for a quick game and a crash course on how to play. I loved it.
Warmachine is alot of fun and as long as you play with someone who knows the rules it doesnt really matter if you do or not, the games are quick ours lasted about 45 mins. Im sure they could last longer or could have gone quicker but we played roughly 30 Points each and it was more fun than I could have expected. The miniatures are really cool and something about Steam Punk Soviets has a ring to it. Anyway OGworks Approves of Warmachine, dont be surprised if you see an Army or two go for sale up here.
